Camp Dogwood
Camp Dogwood is an annual summer event here at St. James United Methodist Church. Every year we look forward to seeing our old friends and meeting new ones. This camp is attended by St. James Preschoolers as well as children in the church and community. We sing, we paint, we ride ponies, we play in the gym, we have chapel, and we make new friends. Camp Dogwood is for children, ages 2 1/2 years through rising Kindergartners. (Participants must be 2 by January 1, 2010.) Camp lasts from 9:30 am to 1:15 pm each day. Each child brings his/her own lunch and a mid-morning snack...we'll provide a cool St. James Camp t-shirt! This summer Camp Dogwood will be July 12-16 with a cost of $175.
F.A.C.E. Camp
What's it all about? Field Trips! Artwork! Competitions! Experiments! We've fused together the components of our very best camps into one MEGA FUN EXPERIENCE called F.A.C.E. Each week, our campers will explore two different local attractions. Our days at St. James will be filled with opportunities to enjoy a variety of art forms, physical and mental competitions and some interesting and interactive science experiments led by Mad Scientists. Let your child have fun and be challenged in a safe and loving environment. Campers should bring their own lunch with a drink and a daily snack. Dress each day with shoes and clothing appropriate for physical activity. F.A.C.E. is for boys and girls rising into 1st through 6th grades. Camp lasts from 9:15 am to 1:30 pm each day. F.A.C.E. Camp is July 12-16 with a cost of $190. Field trips are Ice Skating and to a movie in Sandy Springs. Field trips are subject to change.

Basketball Camp
Join us for another great summer of BASKETBALL camp at St. James! Work on fitness and endurance, dribbling, shooting and passing. Enjoy fun games, drills and scrimmages! This camp will be led by Nichole Dixon, Assistant Coach of the Varsity Women's Wesleyan Wolves. The camp is for boys and girls from 7 to 14 years old. Camp is 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, June 28 to July 1. Cost of the St. James Basketball Camp is $125. Players should bring a mid-morning snack, a water bottle, and a sack lunch with a drink.
Soccer Camp
Join us for indoor soccer camp at St. James! Work on fitness and endurance, ball handling skills, soft touches, making and receiving passes, striking the ball and more. Enjoy fun games, drills and scrimmages! The camp is for boys and girls from 8 to 12 years old. Camp is 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday, June 14-18. Cost of the St. James Indoor Soccer Camp is $90. Players should bring shin guards, indoor shoes, a mid-morning snack, and a water bottle.
Toddler Camp
Toddler Camp is back for a third year - it's time to have some fun with our youngest friends at St. James! We will encourage developmentally appropriate art, music, and movement activities in addition to having lots of time for parallel play and making new friends. Toddler Camp is for children, ages 6 months through 2 1/2 years. (Participants must be 9 months by June 1, 2010.) Camp lasts from 9:00 am to noon each day. Parents pack a snack, diaper, cup and a change of clothes for each camper. Week One is June 7-11 with a cost of $150, and Week Two is June 14-18 also with a cost of $150. Campers will be registered on a first come-first served basis. No more than 6 pre-walkers will be registered.
Pre-Ballet Camp
Little Princess: Around the World! sponsored by Creative Movement and Dance (www.CreativeMovementandDance.com) Pre-Ballet Camp is for children, ages 3 to 5 years. (Participants must be 3 by January 1, 2010.) Students are exposed to several variations of the fine arts - Ballet technique activitities including Drama, Musical Theater, and several Art projects. A mini-recital performance will be held the last day of camp to show off what the children have learned. Girls will need a pink leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Tights are optional due to the hot weather. Long hair should be pulled away from the face. Please label all camp attire! Pre-Ballet camp is limited to 18 students.
Club Scientific
Club Scientific Camps specialize in hands-on, minds-on activities for children ages 4 through 13. These science camps will be offered at St. James during the weeks of June 7th and July 26th. Camp hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Cost is $235 per week. Pre-camp and post-camp hours are available. Kindermusik Camps
This summer, June Abbott, licensed Kindermusik teacher and St. James Preschool teacher, is offering Kindermusik camps! Kindermusik is a music and movement curriculum designed for children from newborn to age 7. Through joyful singing, creative movement, instrument exploration, poetry and dancing, Kindermusik lays the foundation to nurture your child's total development. Music makes memories...and math and reading skills, too. So register today and encourage the love of music and learning! Van Go, August 16-20, for ages 3 to 5 years. Cost is $170. "Put on Your Thinking" Camp for Rising 2nd-5th Graders
Mr. Block and Ms. Carter, Challenge teachers at Sarah Smith Elementary School, are proud to present this opportunity for academically and intellectually talented students to experience a summer of stimulation with others who share their enthusiasm for learning in an academic and social environment. Each session will be directed by certified gifted instructors and include the following: hands-on & verbal problem solving, higher-level thinking activities, critical thinking games, and creative thinking activities. "Put on Your Thinking" Camp is the week of June 14-18 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm each day. (Snacks will be provided.) Cost is $195 per week which includes a $20 supply fee. M.A.D. (Music Art Drama) Week (sponsored by St. James Music Ministries)
During M.A.D. Week, we learn songs, dances and make props and scenery to a biblical musical. Participants are asked to take part in all aspects of preparing for this production under the guidance of the St. James staff, parents, and youth. At 7:00 pm on the final day (Friday), we present the musical for family, friends, and church members. Your child/youth will enjoy the fun and fellowship, and will make new friends. M.A.D. Week is open to all elementary (rising first graders) through high school aged students. The registration fee of $55 per participant covers the cost of music and a performance t-shirt. Camp hours are 9:30 am to 12:30 pm daily. Youth (grades 7-12) who sign up to participate will assist the adults in various areas of production. They do not pay a registration fee, will receive a free t-shirt, and have a pizza lunch on Thursday. M.A.D. Week is scheduled for the week of July 19-23. Cost is $55.
