St. James has a thriving and vibrant music program with many different opportunities to share your musical talents. Whether you sing, ring bells, play an instrument, or just want to learn, there is a spot for you in one of our ensembles!

Members of our musical groups have a wide variety of skill level, ranging from beginners to professionals. We are all on an educational journey together, working and learning to be the best musicians that we can be; everyone is welcome and encouraged to join us.

If you have any questions about our program, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

The Chancel Choir is comprised of adult volunteers who sing at the 10:55 worship service each Sunday, and for special or seasonal events. Each year, the choir performs several major works. Past performances have included Mozart’s Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and others.

For the 2017-2018 season, we will  be performing Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living and J.S. Bach’s Gloria in Excelsis Deo, BWV 191.

Come and be part of a truly special group. All are welcome.

Our brass ensemble is made up of players of all different skill levels. They perform several times a year for special occasions or as requested by the Director of Music, and are always looking for additional players. If you have experience playing a brass instrument, contact Michael Ervin for more information.

At St. James, we strive to include as many people as we can into our music program. If you play an instrument and are interested in sharing your talents in worship, please contact Michael Ervin.

Beginning on August 20, 2017, we will be starting a music ensemble for youth age (13 and up). This is an exciting new initiative that hopes to give our teenagers and young adults an opportunity to offer their talents in worship. These students will perform music from many genres, leaning towards modern styles of worship music. We are looking for any student who sings or plays an instrument of any kind. Those who are interested should contact Michael Ervin.
