Women’s Retreat

SJUMC Women's Retreat 2019 "Be Deeply Loved" led by our own Kristen Vincent. We are deeply loved by God. It’s our truth. It’s who we are. But often we don’t feel deeply loved by God. We might even doubt it. That’s why we’d love for you to join us at the SJUMC Women’s Retreat on February 8 - 10, 2019 in Seagrove, Florida! Together we’ll explore how to be deeply loved by God: how to recognize it, own it, revel in it, and share it. Along the way, we’ll make prayer beads, relax by the beach, enjoy wonderful food, and delight in each other’s company - all signs of God’s deep love for us. Make new friends, strengthen old relationships, and get ready for a time of laughter and love! Plus, why not make it a longer weekend by coming early or staying late? We’ll have Allison O’Sullivan's house from February 6 - February 12, 2019! When: February 8 - 10, 2019 Where: Seagrove, FL Registration: Sign up today! Click here to register online or contact the church office. A $50 Deposit is required upon registration. All deposits are due by December 18! Cost: Final amount will be no more than $200, but exact amount will be communicated closer to time, as it depends on the number of attendees and rental houses needed. Capacity for the retreat is 50 attendees. The retreat cost includes lodging, food and ministry.

Festival of Alleluias

Join us in the Sanctuary following Wednesday Night Supper on Wednesday, February 27, as our Chancel Choir leads us in a night of singing “Alleluia.” What does Alleluia mean? Why do we refrain from saying or singing it during the season of Lent? Come find out the answers as we get all of our “Alleluias” out before the beginning of Lent. This worship service will feature choral anthems, congregational singing, and a message by Rev. Max Vincent.

Wednesday Night Supper – Health Night

Would you enjoy life more if you could move well? Feldenkrais (fel´-den-krice) may be just the thing you need. The Feldenkrais Method of movement education is a process for learning how to perform your activities as well and as comfortably as possible. It is also a means for acquiring new skills, especially the ones you’ve never felt talented enough to try. Feldenkrais has been used for rehabilitating neurological and orthopedic injuries, helping children with special needs surmount developmental delays, fine-tuning athletic performance, and getting rid of common aches and pains. As part of our Wednesday Night Supper Health Night on March 20, Sandi Goldring, M.S., PT, Feldenkrais Practitioner, JKA Therapist, will introduce us to this revolutionary way of functioning. Come prepared not only to listen, but also participate in fun activities that will show you just how quickly and easily you can improve! The program begins at 6:30 p.m. with optional Wednesday Night Supper starting at 5:45 p.m. Contact the St. James church office with questions (404.261.3121).
